Lego Fortnite: A Unique Crafting New Island Adventure featuring Eminem
Along with a new island, the upcoming Fortnite chapter will have a Lego-themed gaming mode. Developer Epic Games unveiled Lego Fortnite, a new in-game experience, after The Big Bang event, which concluded Fortnite OG and featured Eminem. It is referred to as “a new survival crafting game” and will launch on December 7th in Fortnite.
The first announcement of the two firms’ previously disclosed relationship is Lego Fortnite. Epic and Lego stated in April of last year that they will be collaborating to “create a fun, entertaining, and kid-friendly metaverse space.”
A few days later, Kirkbi, an investment organization run by the Kirk Kristiansen family, who established the Lego organization, and Sony shared a $2 billion funding round announced by Epic.
Over the past few weeks, Epic appears to have been setting the stage for this more kid-friendly Lego experience. Age ratings were introduced to Fortnite experiences in November by the business. This meant that some in-game skins could not be utilized in experiences rated for younger players, such as the upcoming Lego experience, which is rated E10+. Most of those alterations had to be undone eventually by the corporation. The December 3rd release of Fortnite’s v28.00 update is anticipated to include more long-term adjustments.
Beyond only featuring Eminem trampling through a devastated city, Fortnite’s most recent virtual concert hinted at several new experiences that would be added to the game in the future.
Known as the Big Bang Event, it whizzed participants through multiple locations for roughly ten minutes. Everyone first gathered on the Fortnite original island to see reenactments of several iconic moments from the game’s history, including the launch of a rocket, the collision of a meteor, and the eventual sucked-in of everything into a black hole. From that point on, gamers entered several portals, each with a distinct theme. Initially, there was an island populated by Lego figures that were constructing, battling, and running around.
Next, a race that was futuristic existed. When Eminem finally came on stage, they had to play Guitar Hero-style, hitting notes in sync to his performance of “Lose Yourself.”
After then, a massive Eminem made his appearance. He looked like a kaiju and performed “Godzilla.” The rapper even exhaled fire into the air during one part of the song, which was set against a burned-out, abandoned metropolis. (In terms of virtual concerts, Eminem’s was the fourth significant in-game musical event, after Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and Marshmello.) And then it was over.
It is not surprising that the event was intended to showcase future experiences coming to Fortnite that go beyond the standard battle royale format, considering Epic’s recent efforts to extend the game’s creative mode. It appears that the intention is to transform Fortnite into a platform more so than a game, a la Roblox or Minecraft.
In fact, Epic and Lego formally unveiled Lego Fortnite, an in-game experience, just after the event concluded. The game will arrive on December 7. Meanwhile, Psyonix, the company that created Rocket League, is developing Rocket Racing, which will launch on December 8, and Harmonix, a rock band studio, is developing Fortnite Festival, which will launch on December 9.
An intriguing section of the game is followed by The Big Bang. Fornite OG, which was released by Epic in November, was a return to important locations and moments from the game’s history rather than a conventional months-long season. It was successful, as evidenced by Epic’s announcement that it had 100 million players in November, the highest number in the game’s history.
